Son Daekwon
(Will Son, 孙大权)
Son Daekwon (Will Son, 孙大权) is an Assistant professor at the Graduate School of International Studies, Sogang University, as well as the Director of the Sogang Institute of International and Area Studies.
He obtained a Ph.D. in International Relations at Peking University and B.A. in Sociology and International Studies at Korea University. He is also a former Nonresident Kelly Fellow at Pacific Forum International, KIM Jun-Yop Fellow at the Institute of Social Sciences, and Korea Foundation Fellow at Pacific Forum CSIS. In addition, he worked as an associate professor at East China Normal University from September 2020 to July 2021.
His academic interests include Domestic-Foreign Policy Nexus, East Asia International Relations, Sino–U.S. relations, the Sino-DPRK relations, North Korea’s nuclear armament, and China’s nuclear posture.
With extensive research experiences in South Korea, China, Japan, and the U.S., He has published multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and op-eds in Korean, English, and Chinese.
